gingerbread happiness

One of our traditions in our home is to make gingerbread cookies..we have done this since the boys’ were 1 years old. Each year the boys’ get a little more creative & meticulous. I really enjoy this time spent together even though it can go on and on…which leads to many cookies undone(those are my cookies for coffee…yum). One thing I do love is all the colors from the candies that we only buy once a year…they are so cheery & bright.
This year the boys’ asked to cut out the cookies…the last couple of years I have done it, as we usually have friends over to help us decorate, so it is just nice to have the cookies all ready to go & not spend so much time cutting & waiting for them to cook…then cool. However this year the boys’ insisted…it was nice to have them rolling out the dough & doing the cutting!
