snow day!

productive day!
a day spent creating, baking and mixing. a day that was a gift.
i am not entirely sure how i would have gotten any of this done…so today at 4:15a.m. when rick’s phone started to ring…i knew exactly how i was going to get all of this done! thank you RFSD for giving us a snow day! i feel as if i can breathe and can concentrate on my students…i can enjoy the last couple of evenings before heading out to oregon.
the gingies were made to take to oregon…where many little hands will help decorate them to yUmMiNeSs!
delicious home made pumpkin granola…a sweet treat to be had with some yogurt or milk! WOW! i didn’t know how easy it was to make granola…that might be something i need to do more regularly!
of course pinterest has been a source for great ideas. i found a recipe for cranberry lime vodka and thought it would be a scrump-diddly-umptious treat to have around the holidays…two jars are headed to friends and one jar will head to oregon with us…of course i have a HUGE jar of granola going with us too!
i really loved having the time today to do all of my gifts. i thought i would be up tonight and tomorrow night until the wee hours getting my to-do list done…but instead i am getting an opportunity to hang out and watch a movie with my family! i am not stressed…that is a good thing…right?
*********
we had a sweet visitor break into our house…and yes sweet or cute or silly…whatever it made us smile!!!!
this cute guy was in our refrigerator when we got home on tuesday night. of course we couldn’t figure out how come our fridge was singing and talking to us…but eventually one of the boys’ moved the milk and this sweet snowman was the culprit. his little list on his arm has all the families he has visited in carbondale. we now have to find a sweet home for him…we have an idea…it is a matter of sneaking into their house to deliver it to their fridge. he reacts to the door being opened on the fridge…pretty darn cute!
here is to a fAbUlOuS & pRoDuCtIvE SNOW day!
{keegan helped me today & rohnan and rick got a pow-pow day at highlands}

Man, if somebody snuck into my house and put something like that in my fridge, I would FREAK OUT. But, we’re living different lives.
Have a great trip!
Safe travels to and from Oregon. What a wonderful gift your snow day was so you could get all those little “extra” special things done without the stress! Have a wonderful time celebrating your Dad’s big 7 0 on the 25th and oh, wait….that’s also Christmas! Just figured for once, he should get TOP billing on the date! <3 you guys!
Awesome… Can’t wait to try some of your infused vodka! By the way, what vodka do you use for such a thing? And do we mix it or drink it straight?
See you around some time!
